Charley Fisher and I continued Phase Three of The Great African Expedition today on the River Nile. We were guided by ‘Itchy’ to several fishing holes near Murchison Falls. Along the shoreline we passed lots of elephants, hippos, crocodiles and flocks of birds. The Ugandan Wildlife Authority’s Murchison Falls National Park is one of Africa’s finest. The two fish I caught were huge by most standards but did not come close to Charley’s biggest catch of the day, a Nile Perch weighing in at 15 kilos!
We also travelled down river to look at Wild Frontiers new Baker’s Lodge. When it opens later this year it is sure to be one of the nicest lodges on this section of the Nile.
