Great Africa

Kampala, Uganda

In Kampala today I met with Dr. Andrew Seguya, Executive Director for Uganda Wildlife Authority, Stephen Masada, Manager Business Development at UWA, Jossy Muhangi, Senior writer at UWA and Jean Byamugisha, Assistant Project Manager at the United Nations & Director of Public Relations for The Great African Expedition-Uganda.

From the back of a Walter’s Boda Boda City Tour motorcycle I ventured through the backstreets and alleyways of Kampala, the capital of Uganda, in search of a Facebook friend whom I had never met face to face. Eventually I had the pleasure of spending time with Emma Kavuna, his wife and their five-day-old baby daughter at his art studio. I watched as he created his work of art entitled ‘Togetherness’.

I also befriended of young lady selling babies clothing door to door. She walks from sunrise to sunset with bundles of children’s clothing atop her head and tied about her body to earn 20,000 Ugandan Schillings (about $10 dollars).
