I went out alone on a game drive with guide David this morning. We were bouncing along through the bush looking for an illusive and shy male lion deep in Kidepo National Park. Unlike in Kenya and Tanzania, in Kidepo you will never stumble upon wildlife surrounded by 15 to 20 mini vans filled to the brim with tourist all vying for a key vantage point to capture that image of a lifetime. In fact this week while here in Kidepo, Charley and I have felt as though we had the parks 1442 square kilometres all to ourselves.
