Trekking through a large tea planation today in western Uganda, my photos do not reflect the beauty of the landscape nor the wonderful field workers I encountered.
Baker, Livingstone, Speke, Grant, Burton, DeBrazza, Baumann or Stanley… It was not their dedication to mission or their endurance that got the Victorian aged explorers to the end of their journeys and back again. It was the advice they received from the locals they encountered day in and day out. Nothing has changed since Baker came through this neck of the woods 150 years ago…
