Campo Grande

With 450 kilometers of Brazilian soil behind us we finally arrived in Campo Grande.

“Filipe, you continue to amaze us with your resiliency. We are so excited to be here to promote another event for your ride,” Marcelo Murta of Os Independentes said as he arrived from Barretos.

To celebrate my arrival in the capital of Mato Grosso do Sul, Marcelo and other members of Os Independentes traveled here to put on a BBQ. Not only did they invite the media and local cowboys, they also brought with them one of Brazil’s best country duo’s, Jads e Jadson.

“These guys are blowing up in Brazil and will be playing in Barretos,” Marcelo said as I met the duo.

Together we rode into Ranch Nevada where the horses will rest for a week – a much-deserved break for my three heroes. The media took photos and asked questions as we entered the ranch’s gates. After a short scrum, Jads e Jadson pulled out their guitars and sang a few songs for us. It was a great acoustic set.

“We are extremely happy to have had the opportunity to meet Filipe and play a couple songs for you all today,” Jads said before everyone ate the delicious BBQ lunch.

Over beers I told everyone about our adventures through the Pantanal. It was an amazing afternoon and I can’t thank Os Independentes enough for the continued support! I also need to thank Gustavo, his father Cícero and his mother Juliana for hosting this great event.
