Last week I blogged about the things people have given me these past few months on the road. It was amazing to reflect on how kind everyone I have crossed paths with has been.
Sure enough, a few minutes after posting the blog I was once again reminded just how blessed I am! A group of extraordinary women from Guelph, Ontario sent me a beautiful email containing a very generous donation to use for new boots. Avid followers of Journey America, the ‘Managers’ as they are known in Canada, saw a photo of my decaying boots and joined forces to save my feet 🙂
I can’t thank these beautiful women enough for their support and love! This is what keeps me moving south no matter what. This journey started as a dream but today it is so very real and it’s all thanks to those who believe in it. Together we will arrive in Brazil and prove that with hard work and determination anything is possible.
Here is the email from the ‘Managers’:
______________________________________________
“We have been following your travels and enjoying every moment of your adventure.
We are a group of friends of Jane’s that have been together, bonded by our children, for over 20 years! We affectionately call ourselves the ‘Managers’ and have shared so many of life’s gifts with one another. Smiles, tears, joy and laughter, and yes, a little pain sometimes too! Through it all we’ve remained fast and true friends.
As we’ve watched your journey unfold we’ve been completely enthralled by your adventures! You are a brave soul and we couldn’t be more affected by your courage and determination to follow your dream!
Recently, there was a series of beautiful photos of you posted by an incredible photographer (Karen Kuehn) that took our collective breath away! These photos gave us a very real perspective of the enormity of your challenge.
We were especially moved by the conditions that you are traveling in. In particular, we saw Karen’s mention of your need for new boots! Some of us were able to donate to your cause early in your journey but many of us would like to do so now.
As a group we would like to make a donation to your adventure and new boots specifically!
Please accept this donation on behalf of the ‘Managers’. Use it to buy yourself a new pair of boots or anything else that you are in need of.
Consider it an early Christmas present! On behalf of myself and all the ‘Managers’, we wish you a very Merry Christmas!
Safe travels!
Love, Laura Cullen xo
