Journey America

Time for Goodbye

After 3 months travelling through Mexico with my father, the time came to say goodbye! On Friday April 15, he returned to our home in Espirito Santo do Pinhal, Brazil. I’m so lucky to have had my dad out here with me through the northern part of Mexico. We shared some amazing moments that I will never forget.

Mexico City is also where I had to say goodbye to General Cuencame. As we had originally planned, our little Burro from Durango ended his journey in Mexico’s capital. Luckily, I found a good home for him with Vidal Romero. He will give the General a great life and allow me to visit him when I return to Mexico. I can’t thank Vidal enough for his commitment!!! General Cuencame will be missed.

Once again Journey America returns to a 3 horse formation as I continue to trek south solo. I’m excited to get closer to the ocean and into Mexico’s lush southern states. But I am also very worried about the extreme heat and rainfall. We are about to enter the rainy season down here and there will be no way for me to escape it! We’ll have to see what happens.

With the horses rested I am ready to see what the road holds for us next! From Mexico City I will ride to Puebla and then Veracr.
