Journey America

Traveling Companion

Nicaragua brought many beautiful surprises my way. Not only did I get to celebrate both my mother’s and my birthday here, this beautiful land also returned my girlfriend to my side.

After a painful goodbye to my traveling partner and best friend at the Mexican border, Emma returned to join the boys and I on our Long Ride home. And it feels GREAT.

“I cant believe it has been almost a year since we last saw each other,” she said as we hugged tightly.

With tears of joy riding down our cheeks we made our way to the ponies. Emma loves Frenchie, Bruiser and Dude. Having her around is not only amazing for my heart, it is also extremely helpful. Having to care for 3 horses, write blogs, and shoot a documentary is extremely hard! Having someone like Emma out here makes all of the difference in the world.

“Oh If only I could fit you in my pocket,” she said to Frenchie as the two loved on each other.

As if I was dreaming with my eyes open, Emma, Frenchie, Dude, Bruiser and I made our way south again.

“Feels good to be traveling again,” she said.

Only a 3 day trek from the Costa Rican border, we rode out of the ranch where the boys were resting. Emma riding Dude, Frenchie carrying the pack and myself on Bruiser. Chasing the sun with the wind on our backs I looked up at the heavens and whispered, “Life is meant to be shared.
