Journey America Part 2
About Journey America Part 2
On July 8, 2012, Filipe Masetti Leite embarked upon one of the most daring equestrian adventures of the 21st century. Twenty seven months later, this second-generation Brazilian cowboy finally finished what began as a dream passed down from his father and inspired by legendary long rider Aime Tschiffely. Filipe rode his three horses: Frenchie, Bruiser, and Dude from Calgary, Canada to his home in eastern Brazil – 12 countries and 10,000 miles away.
After spending a year writing a book about this amazing experience, this 21st-century long rider realized his dream wasn’t complete and a second journey quickly began to take shape. This time Filipe would continue south, starting where his first journey ended and not stopping until he could go no further. His destination – the end of the world – Ushuaia on the island of Tierra del Fuego, the southernmost point in the Americas.
As Filipe tacked on another 5,000 miles, his list of memories continued to grow along with the number of lifelong friends and followers. Mileage is only one way to measure the success of a journey, and rarely the best.
Like the first Journey America, Filipe’s journal for Journey America: Ride to the End of the World first appeared here at OutWildTV. Soon, that tradition will continue…
